The Art of the Follow Up

I believe that mastering the art of the follow-up is key to most people's success. Following up in my own career has led me to land interviews and job positions—beating out the competition. In my current career, it has helped me hire top candidates, land partnership deals, and secure events.

But most people don’t follow up. Why? They don’t want to feel imposing, or they assume the hiring manager, recruiter, or business owner isn’t interested. While you shouldn’t continue to message someone repeatedly, it's important to always follow up to show your interest and excitement for joining someone's team.

Personally, I love receiving a follow-up email after I meet with a candidate—it shows that they are passionate and excited about joining our team. Because we receive a ton of applicants, it helps me identify who will most likely bring the most to the table if we hire them.

If you ever venture into aesthetic sales, or are doing aesthetic sales in your current role, you will learn that the art of the follow-up is what separates the strong salespeople from the rest.

When and How to Follow Up

Today, we will review when and how to follow up after an interview. But these principles can be applied in almost any part of life. If I have one piece of advice for you, it is this: always follow up.

Below are some examples of follow-up emails. Make sure to make them your own by filling in your details and information, your skills, the company's information, and the hiring manager's name and contact info.
